ICBC-Funded Counselling

If you've been in a motor vehicle accident you are not alone and support is available to you.

Support for Your Recovery After a Motor Vehicle Accident

Recovering from a car accident isn’t just about healing physical injuries—it's about addressing the emotional and psychological impact, too. If you've been in a motor vehicle accident and are experiencing symptoms such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, or chronic stress, you're not alone. These responses are common, and support is available.

Through ICBC-funded counselling, you can access professional therapy at no cost to you. We work directly with ICBC to provide timely, trauma-informed support that helps you process what you've been through and begin the journey toward emotional recovery.

Our therapists are experienced in helping individuals cope with post-accident challenges such as nightmares, hypervigilance, fear of driving, mood changes, and difficulties in concentration. Using evidence-based approaches like EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and somatic practices, we aim to reduce distress, rebuild resilience, and restore a sense of safety and control in your daily life.

Common concerns addressed in ICBC counselling include:

  • Anxiety and panic after a crash
  • Traumatic memories or flashbacks
  • Fear or avoidance of driving
  • Sleep disturbances and heightened alertness
  • Emotional numbness or withdrawal
  • Anger, irritability, or grief
  • Difficulty focusing or managing responsibilities
  • Chronic pain-related stress
